It was only by .002 sec but the temperature was 110 deg and the density altitude was over 4200' while my previous best was in near perfect cold air. I ran a 12.705 at 108 mph. That's right it was 110 under our canopy at 4 pm about the time I made the run. I measured the track temp at 142. My first pass of the day was a 12.765 but on my only elimination run I flubbed up, spun really bad and only ran a 13.231. It was just too hot to buy back in and run again. This is with my new motor on its first outing. I'll get my time slip scanned and posted here tomorrow. I'm planning on posting a new thread about the motor as soon as I get all the photos edited this week. I'm really anxious to see what it'll do in cool weather. I expect my times will drop significantly the more I run it with cooler temps.

Mike, It should be a whole lot quicker come fall. Whats the new set up? Get that seat time and any bugs out now.

Awesome numbers!!!! :)

I'm expecting 1/2 to 3/4 second improvement as time goes on. Indeed, right now I'm more concerned with ironing out all of the bugs. Here's a couple of videos of my runs. I'll be posting another thread with all the motor details later this week.

Thats nice for the conditions. I cant imagine my car in those conditions. It would be so much slower that I wouldn't want to go at all.

It was absolutely brutal! My GF was with me and she got overheated. Fortunately one of the other racers came in his motorhome and had the A/C down to 70 deg inside. She stayed in there most of the afternoon. Even close to midnight on the way home I had hot air blowing in the window driving down I-85.

Nice runs Mike. Will be nice to see those numbers drop as fall approaches. Remind me, which gears are what tires size you running?

I'm running a 3:73 Auburn diff, a '94 M5R2, and Mickey T's ET Streets 27x10.5x16. The tire size has been discontinued I've been told.

Ya just being in that heat sucks, but i was more so talking about how my car runs like absolute crap in hotter weather, and was thinking yours and all other Sc's would be the same.

My old motor would have been a second slower with the heat. It really does sap the power from them.

You do realize of course that once the bugs are out and in good weather/running conditions/track etc and your abilities that thing's likely to tag the high 11's!!!!

That must be some decent combo. Any dyno numbers on it??

I'm actually hoping for high 11's eventually. I'll put all the info about the motor in a new thread later. I'm still editing my photos from the build.

Mike,

Car is running great to pull that ET & MPH in such lousy weather. I don't think you will have any problems running 11s in the fall. Hope you can make it to the Shootout this year.
