EGR valve removal?

What or how is the best way to remove and replace the egr valve. Would I be able to access it from above if I remove the wiper cowl or would it have to be from underneath? Any advice is appreciated.

Removing the cowl will help get to the two top bolts......

Removing the lower connection to the manifold can have it's own issues.....

Once you have it out, you can use a few pennies to block off the manifold fitting.....

What's the purpose of blocking off the manifold fitting with pennies?

My tube is not broken. Will doing this affect the way my car runs?

Without a tune you might get a CEL. My car didn't for two years then one day it came up. I ended up putting a different computer in, one that didn't have it. If its not broken or in bad shape, I'd keep it, unless you plan on modding the car and getting it tuned. Then junk it.
