I am needing to replace my worn out struts and shocks. I can't afford the expensive tokiko struts and shocks. Can I get away with using the standard ones for the v8 model?

You can but you will lose the auto ride control..

I'll add that you'll need to disable the ARC controller somehow, or put up with the "FIRM RIDE" light blinking. Or do like I did, and remove the bulb from the "FIRM RIDE" position on the control panel :D:D

But yah, BTDT got KYBs on the front due to that.

(ACDelcos on the back - the KYBs are better, so I'll be swappnig those out soon.)

WHILE doing the front, consider also using the Raybestos / SACHS / KYB / Monroe "Quick Strut" type front assemblies, since you should also change the upper and lower spring mounts (normally called "upper strut mount" and "lower spring mount" respectively.)

Dunno how the others ride, Monroes are aimed at a firmer replacement for LX vehicles so you'll get some floaty-boaty out of them.
