Hey guys,

I found these on Ebay. They appear to be a very well made brake rotor and are substanially cheaper than anything else out there for us.

They will redrill for the 5 X 4.25 bolt circle for $15 extra. An entire set front and rear currently is $245 to the lower 48 states, may be a touch more shipped to Canada I will confirm.

No one needs a 13" rotor? These are half of what most are charging for them.

300+60 and then find relocation brackets for calipers...

Or is that 15 for all 4 drilled?

Tom

Flex
10-09-2012, 06:25 PM
I bought a Cobra caliper kit that had the calipers, pads and brackets all in one box for $165. Deals can be found.

I asked about the front and rear rotor set for $300 and he replied saying it would be $15 more for the redrill. Considering that most places are charging $300 just for the fronts, it is already a pretty good deal. Like getting the rears for free.

Flex
10-09-2012, 09:07 PM
Well they seem to be a higher quality rotor as well as cheaper that what most offer for rotors in general. I am probably looking at 2-4 sets myself depending on what sort of pricing we can obtain.

Flex
10-12-2012, 03:18 PM
I received an answer from DRT-Sport;

"1 price only.

If you get 10 or more it will be $245.00 shipped include the new bolt pattern.

Woody"

The new bolt pattern is a redrill for the Thunderbird SC. I will clarify but it will most likely be $15 less for those of us that are also purchasing just for a Mustang. Two of my sets will be Mustang only so I will inquire as to whether that will be the case.

Flex
10-16-2012, 10:19 PM
Is anybody on board? Tom, David? In case somebody also wishes to buy for a Mustang, they will be $220 shipped.

I would do a set- but no drilling needed- have done a cobra swap already.
I might have a bud who would want one as well.
Let me know.

Flex
11-28-2012, 04:57 PM
I currently have 7 out of the 10 needed for the buy.

Driveithard are you in for sure? With you mustang hub pattern the price is $220 shipped to your door. Let me know. If you are in then we would only need two more.

With companies like SCP charging $262.00 plus shipping for just the fronts, I would have thought that this would have been much easier to fill.

Bill Evanoff
11-30-2012, 07:25 PM
I agree. The KVR Performance rotors SCP offers are definitely expensive but they do make a great quality made-in-North-America x-drilled rotor.

Strangely, KVR will not redrill rotors any longer for anyone so if you want the 13" ones with the 5 x 4.25" pattern this is a good deal as far as the $15 per rotor to redrill (or $15 for all four...not too clear on this). Either way, this is a great price.

Flex
11-30-2012, 07:47 PM
Bill,

I hope that this did not come off the wrong way. I did not mean to offend you. I realize that it is all dependant on what your supplier offers you for costs and you definately have great deals on a lot of your products. I would kill (my ex for sure:eek: ) to be able to get one of the ram air hoods from you without having to pay a fortune in shipping. Times being what they are, everybody is looking to save every bit possible.

For the thunderbird redrill, he is doing all four for the price listed shipped right to the purchaser's door. The obvious savings on the mustang pattern rotors is due to that not being required.

Can someone provide some info/links on the necessary conversion kit/components needed to put the Cobra brakes on a '94 SC? I'd like to retain the stock 5 x 4.25 MN12 pattern. Also, will the Cobra-size brakes fit under a stock set of SC 16's? If so, I might be interested in a set of four of these rotors now. I will also note I'd like to find a set of Cobra R's in chrome, MN12 pattern. Thanks in advance for help in sorting this out...

Flex
02-26-2013, 05:56 PM
The rotors in my buy are redrilled to the 5 x 4.25 bolt pattern. You would need cobra calipers for the front and a set of Dave Dalke's caliper relocating brackets for the rear.

http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120811

The 13" rotor will not fit under 16" rims. A minimum of 17" is need to clear.

Flex
03-05-2013, 07:16 PM
Answered in order;

1.) When there are ten or more buyers. Ten needed to get the price given for the buy.

2.) I assume that as long as groups of ten are reached, another buy can be initiated. I have not inquired as to whether the price will remain for others once the buy is filled on an individual basis. I doubt it unless another ten come together.

3.) No they are not. Cobra rear brakes are 11.65".

You will need to buy these from XR7 Dave for the rears.

Hey guys,

Chris was trying to help move this along so he called Woody and talked to him again. He managed to get the required amount down to 8 and priced at a lower $160 for a set to the lower 48 states. This is a much better price for those of you currently living in those states.

I have asked Chris to call Woody back and see if there will be a reduced price for the upper 48 as well. I will update the post as soon as we hear back.

Chris,

He basically just wants us to forward a list of buyers so that he knows who is part of this buy and then each person can contact him directly to make payment and have the rotors shipped directly.

One more clarification you could make is if the regular cobra's are $20 less, i.e. the cost of the redrill, for those running a Mustang bolt circle.

Allright, I spoke to Woody and everything is on. He will honor the $245 shipped for Thunderbird sets and $225 for anyone with the Mustang bolt pattern despite risen costs since October of last year.

We have pro street rich added to the mix. Once he has confirmed what he wants, I will send the final list to Woody.

Once I have sent him the list, you will each contact him and tell him what bolt pattern, what style of rotor (cross drilled, slotted, or both) and full set, fronts only etc. I have included that information in my email directly as it came from you but go through it again to make sure there are no mistakes.

At that time you will pay for your purchase directly. His preference and most likely everyone else's. Shipping times will depend on your proximity to Lowell, Massachusetts.

i have 13" rotors with my cobra calipers. But i met another SC owner by my job and he has 12" rotors. i have a gap from caliper to center of the rotor, his was filled up nice with no gap. look at my pics posted on my signature link. you'll see what mine look like.

look at the last wheel pic at bottom right. you see the used portion of the rotor and than a 1.5in gap of unused rotor.

He increased the price on the Mustang rotors. I asked him why the change. He just sent me this response.

"When I spoke with Chris it was $265.00 shipped include the re-drill

Somehow the message got mixed up between you and Chris so you mention that I said it was $245.00 shipped then I agreed with you that I can do $245.00"

I normally sell these at $280.00 plus shipping without the re-drill.

After shipping and paypal fee I make $38.00. I have to make it $245.00 flat for everyone.

He thinks that this buy started when Chris contacted him. So unfortunately whatever they discussed has become the start. I managed to keep it to $245 but it will apparently apply to all.

Just ask him for a correction. I had you in only for fronts.

Jim Cook
05-06-2013, 10:14 PM
That is correct,

Options were: Drilled, Slotted, Drilled and Slotted or Blank. I've used all of of previous plus dimpled and wasn't impressed with or noticed a difference over a blank rotor. Was not disappointed either. I'm running dimpled/slotted on my '91 SC and drilled/slotted on my '94 LX. Drilled holes clogged with brake dust/rust, rendering their functionality questionable. Modern pad materials don't gas like older materials like asbestos. I'd rather have the maximum surface area.

Crash00527
05-06-2013, 11:26 PM
Only purpose Drilled, slotted rotors are for actual track racing where they are really heated up and really need to stay cool. Otherwise there just for looks. Which I like. I have drilled and slotted. Look so nice.

Oh, Crash only purchased the fronts (and posted the part number). My bad, I thought you meant the seller only purchased the fronts and thats why you were mad. Sorry, been taking care of my little guy and haven't had much sleep.

In Centric's rotor lineup they show 3 kinds. C-Tek, Premium, and High perf (which is a high carbon rotor or stop tech piece). The part number above is the premium. Here is what rock auto has for the part numbers...

CENTRIC Part # 12061046 Premium Rotor-Preferred Rear; SVT Cobra
$31.99 x 2 = $63.98

CENTRIC Part # 12061044 Premium Rotor-Preferred Front Left; SVT Cobra
$42.79

CENTRIC Part # 12061045 Premium Rotor-Preferred Front Right; SVT Cobra
$42.79

Crash, do you have two different part numbers for each front rotor? Looks like the vane is directional on the fronts. I hope he realizes that! He's basically buying these and machining his own slots or xdrilled, drilling our pattern, and shipping them out.

If that's the number on crash's box, then they are just the premium. The ebay listing says premium line too. The performance line had similar, but different part numbers. I don't mind about that, I just hope he's using directional ones in the front according to the part numbers.
