Question. How much trouble am I going to have pulling off the collar nut on my MP raised top? I have heard the threads are reversed. I have a high quality spanner wrench. Will that work or am I going to end up cutting the nut off?

I took a grinder with a cutting wheel and cut it in two places, same with the retainer that holds it on it is epoxied so just carefully slice through it with a cutting wheel then take a punch and break it loose and it comes right off.
 
Spanner wrench should work and yes it is reverse thread because the inner nut is foreward thread. Don't use a hammer and flathead you will kill the collar nut just in case you need to use it again. I use a large red pipe wrench and a mallet to persuade
