PLEASE keep this thread to posts on who is/isn't coming and when arriving/leaving, what car(s) you're bringing etc...

I will make a 2nd post that I keep updated with an attendance roster.

Accomodations are set at the

1. $99 rate for Thursday night (early arrivers)
2. $133 rate for Fri and Sat nights
3. They put on a Friday night BBQ event for all the clubs staying there... a FREE beer and Hot Dog/Hamburger with Sides type buffet to show their appreciation to the clubs.
4. Multiple bars and outside areas for us to meet in. They also are connected to a Country night club with a mechanical bull.
5. I have an adjoining room to use as a hospitality suite
6. We also have a seperate meeting room
7. The Hospitality suite is shared with my Gran Torino Sport.ORG group, both groups have our meeting rooms that are also joined by a door
8. Block of rooms together for the group sharing a floor/wing with GTS.ORG
9. PLENTY of parking and they will section off areas for the different clubs to call their own once we get a count of cars, trucks, and trailers
8. a bunch of Mustang and a couple Truck groups stay there every year and some already booked, so we are surrounded by other car guys making the trip to and from the show and partying at night!

When you call they will quote you the $133/night rate for all 3 days...
They cannot put the different pricing in the computer for Thursday night.
The system is a Coorporate system with very little local hotel control.
However, the prices will reflect at time of check out. NO WORRIES

here is a link to the hotel

Call 717-697-0321.
Give them the name of the Club... SuperCoupe Club of America
You can start making reservations anytime now.

They do not CHARGE your card until the day you arrive and you can cancel up to 7 days prior.

I plan to be there. Sometimes we show up thursday night, but definatly friday. Either bring my 94 5 speed or the Murder Bird (95 Auto race car).

Dad will most likely come too. With 03 Marauder and maybe 94 Convertible Mark 8 if we can find someone to drive it.

I plan on being there but not sure which car I will take. The SC is about to hit 200k with stock headgaskets so I guess its between the mark 8(If I can get it on the road...dmv is giving me a hard time since it has a reconstructed title) or I'll just bring the underbird. I just moved to Front Royal,VA and started a new job so hope I can get off work...though I told my boss before he hired me that I go to a few car meets and he was cool about it...fingers crossed.

Since you were gone the past two years Carlisle combined all the 89+ Cougars into one class. The new ones are completely different cars so I wrote a letter (http://www.eastcoastrollingthunder.com/smf/index.php?topic=2126.msg9583#msg9583) and you will be coming back to the old 89-97 Class. Sorry we need a few more XR7's to get our own 89-90 class.

Same issue I am having with them and the Gran Torino club stuff.
They are putting all our Cougars together too 68-89 is what they said.
So they have the 68-70, 71-74, 75-76, 77-79, 80-82, 83-86, 87-88 ALL together! irritating to think the all FORD show cannot differentiate the cars.

they can but need enough cars to attend to make specific classes..Same happened with SC's..We fixed one problem..But unless a bunch more show..Its stays as is with SC xr7's with regular cougars

PM me if you like and I can send you the contact. But they want 20 cars per class and honestly that is unrealistic to me.

I can live with XR7 and regular cougars but our body styles are totally different than the 99-02 cougars. We do not belong with them and should not be in their same class.

If those 99-02 cougars can not get enough cars then they should be grouped with cars that share the same low HP engine and look like the probe, Contour, Mondeo or Mercury Mystique. Hence the reason I took action!! :D

Nothing will happen this year as it will be the first year we have ALOT of cars in our classes. NEXT year if we bring it all back they will entertain the correct split with my input.

I really liked the Hotel Carlisle but last year they dropped to a new low. I always bring my own insecticide/ sanitization spray to prepare the room prior to entry. Glad I did last year, it was a smokers room. Still, all my efforts were in vein. The hotel had a big flea problem right in-front of the main desk where you check in and out. It was impossible not to stand in the swarm! It took me three weeks to get rid of the buggers...

I am considering this hotel if I stay over night next year.

I will most likely be going to Carlisle this year; I go whenever I own a Ford. Went in 2010 with my 95 TBird LX, 2012 with my 87 Escort GL/GT, and most likely 2013 with my 90 SC...

Not sure where I'll be staying, I usually opt for the Econo Lodge in Mechanicsburg since that's where my friends and I always stay. I stayed at this crappy hotel (I can't remember the name) for GM Nationals last year... and got yelled at for doing burnouts in the parking lot. Anyone know a hotel that is burnout friendly? haha

God willing I get my SC painted and running when I get back from Afghani-land I'm going to try and make it. I haven't been to Carlisle since 03 and if it's still as much fun as it was back then, then I'm sure it will be a great time.

I remember it being a weekend long hotel party with a car show mixed in for good measure.

I'm trying to talk my buddy from high school who recently got an SC into coming, or hell maybe I'll just ride down with him if my car isn't ready.

I've been in Afghanistan since last fall. I'm all about going to Hooters and seeing some women. This General Order 1 Bravo is killing me.

I know that I was diving to Carlisle about 2 hours out when the group arrived at Hooter's...when I arrived it took another 45 to an hour for the food they ordered to hit the table. 3 hours to get wings is excessive. I remember the waitress had a scar on her titty also and we figure that's where she was shanked at some point for being such a beeooootchhh ;).

The wings also looked like they were from a small bird rather than a chicken...all I could do is laugh since again wasn't directly affected like John.

Travel out plans...
the plan is leaving here O'Dark-Thirty Wednesday Morning.
Link up with my Torino Buddy, Andy coming out of Omaha.
We link up on the east side of KC.
The ride is 8 hours for where we meet in Kansas City to Louisville.

My house to Link up point East Side of Kansas City
2 hours 7 minutes / 133.79 miles

Andy's in Omaha to Link up point East Side of Kansas City
2 hrs 53 mins / 186.53 miles

Andy and My trip from Kansas City to Louisville
7 hours 55 minutes / 502.17 miles

Plan is to meet Andy in Kansas City around 7-8am,LATEST(in/out before KC Morning rush hour). That would put us through St Louis 4 hours after we leave KC, right around lunch. Not bad during the week and gives us time to grab a good BBQ lunch!

That puts in us in Louisville late afternoon before rush hour.

Time built in for gas/food stops we'll be in to Alex' before dinner.

ANYONE want to link up along the way...
Me... Junction City, KS I-70 east to KC
Andy... Omaha, NE 75S to I-29 South to KC
Together... Kansas City, MO I-70 East to St Louis the I-64 East to Louisville

A bunch of us meeting in Louisville and MIGHT be going to the track for test and tune Wednesday night.
Then we all roll out in convoy O-Dark-Thirty on Thursday Morning from Louisville to the Hotel in Carlisle.

Just got off the phone with the Hotel.

We have 10 rooms reserved for Thursday night and 15 for Fri & Sat according to the reservations.

My other group Gran Torino Sport.Org has 10 rooms for all 3 night

We have ajoining meeting rooms to be used by the groups and are sharing a hallway in the hotel.

I have a double room in that hallway, 1 is my room and the other will be cleared out for use as a hospitality suite for both groups

We as the GranTorinoSport.Org group are kind of flying by the seat of our pants for this one.

Friday at 6pm there is a Beef and Brew BBQ put on at the hotel for those not going to the DragStrip.

We can do Breakfast at the "legends" restaurant at the hotel any of those days.

We can do a BBQ at the hotel on Saturday or head off to another location/restaurant, I know SCCoA is working on a cruise/meet at Olive Garden.

As a 1st timer to Carlisle and MANY of my Gran Torino guys as well, I am looking to my SCCoA brothers to help guide us on times to meet, leave, get to the grounds etc...
Y'all have been doing coordinated meets at Carlisle for MANY years now.

This is what Dee and I are doing

Wednesday, we leave Kansas headed to Louisville, KY to a GTS.ORG meeting and possible night at the track and dinner. A few of our guys are meeting and will be convoying out Thursday Morning to Carlisle/Hotel.
Friday most of the Gran Torino crew will be going to the dragstrip.
Sunday heading back out, some on convoy headed back through Louisville.

We are very open to anyone from SCCoA joining us along the way or meeting up on Wed Night or Thurs Morn to join the convoy!
Hopefully the SCCoA and GTS.ORG groups will mesh well and many new friendships formed!

ANYONE interested in joining me on the way Wednesday feel free to contact me and we can link it all up.

I am getting the GTS.ORG crew to give me info as to where everyone is coming out of and maybe we can get people linked up from either or both groups.

Friday while y'all head over to the show during the day and the dragstrip at night, Our (Dee and I) is WAY different... Friday morning we are headed to Massachusetts for my Daughter's HS Graduation, take her to dinner and then hit the road back to Carlisle. We will be back in the morning to meet the group headed over to the show.

Headed out Sunday whenever others convoy out.

This is the template I am using on GTS.ORG for those coming

Name...............HOME........Wed night in Louisville......Thursday Convoy Louisville to Carlisle.....Friday.....Saturday...Sunday

Carl and Dee.....Kansas...............YES.................. ...........YES/Arrive/Hotel......................YES/Hotel...YES/Hotel..Leaving

You can get to the show saturday morning whenever. If you drive a SC its usually best to get there early cause we don't preregister and they never give us enough room.

I think judging officially starts at 12 or 1 tll 3 or 4. It is peer judging. So some people judge early to get it done, so if you arive late you could possibly miss out on votes. Everyone registered gets a ballot for a certain section to judge.

Us partyers usually arrive late.;) Friday and sunday are do what ya like on the showfield. Sunday if you place you can run the parade lap to get your plaque or opt to just get the plaque if you want to leave early.

Parade usually ends about 2pm

I have no downtubes. And no time to get them fabricated.

Car is also unregistered.

Only plan is to rent a dolly and bring it with the Taco or Saab. Saab will kill me on fuel costs. And times are tight. Been helping out my mom after she lost her job.

I need a tune too. It be nice if somebody can volunteer to get their time to get it to idle and run. With the new maf and injectors. Basetune only.

Sleeping in the car likely, or camping out likely.
