Everyone doing alright?

Lost power from 10:50pm until 6:00AM, but had the fire place going so it didnt get cold in the house.

The chest high snow in the driveway was fun.

Heard your govenor declared a statewide emergency. Did the winds make it up there also? Eastern IA was said to have gotten around that much as well.

Yes, with the snow drifts across the roads. It made it impossible to drive.

It sucks that you guys got pounded by snow and we got less than an inch here in Chicago. For a change I want to get the crappie weather, I make more money because of it. Send it here.

Earlier in the week, Minneapolis was supposed to get hit as well, we lucked out though and it headed southof the cities.

2.5 total hours snow blowing
1.5 hours scraping and shoveling

I still haven't found all of my driveway.

We waited until Saturday at 4 to start out on our Christmas travels.

Iowa DOT failed miserably on this storm cleanup.

Had an interesting drive home on Wednesday as it was changing from rain to snow.

Between knee and waist deep snow drifts in the driveway Thursday morning, which didn't allow me to get to work. And even after I got the driveway scooped, I still couldn't get the SC out due to poor tires and the horrible angle of the driveway.

Finally got it out Saturday and got 2 better tires on the rear, but not on the front yet (stupid factory keyed lugnuts). Thanks to my dad for letting me borrow the stock 94 wheels and tires :)

This could be a long winter....

Truck is still in CB. Hoping this next storm only adds 1 inch not the 3-5 they are saying it might do.

It is cold out, but it is also the end of Dec. Can't complain about the weather this winter.

The 4 inches of ice still on the roads sucks, but that is what AWD, traction control and SNOW tires are for.

People were complaining about the roads yesterday and the news as they do deliveries all day, but they didn't have snow tires on their van and the tires on the van had less than 5/32 of tread. Good time to point the finger at another instead of taking responsiblity for yourself.

Here in southern illinois we got a little over a foot and we have another 3 -4 coming tomorrow and its going to stay cold from what the forecast says. Travel was with my truck only for the past couple days, I wont even take my car out in the rain much less this mess.

Have no fear - my dad went out and bought a big snow blower. Way more than he'll probably ever need :) so that means it probably only snow about 2-3 inches at a time and only snow once a month. We'll just have to deal with the cold though.
