1995 super coupe clutch

Took my 1995 super coupe to get the transmission repaired. Came out worse, chattering and smelling like burnt clutch disc. Took it to another mechanic, looked at it and said it was missing dowel pins to center pressure plate and to keep it from chattering. Shop says pressure plate does not require dowel pins and that there is something else wrong with transmission. Is this true?

Post stuff like this in the technical forum, but you do not need the dowel pins. If you're chattering then you may have issues with a warped flywheel/pressure plate. Also, you'll have to make sure that the clutch is fully disengaging whenever you push the pedal in.
