I've got a Mark VIII aluminum diff. 3.07 open gears confirmed below by tag. $125 + shipping.

I purchased to setup, but recently found something better to use.

Cheers!

Does anyone know how to read that mark8 axle tag? If it is a trak lok I am on board. I believe it is a 3.08 open axle and if that is the case I'll pass but I would like to be sure.

Why I posted the tag I'm unsure as well and I'm not taking the cover off.

307 open. The LSCs had 3L27s in them. Or, 3.27s with trac loc. Who ever gets it Im sure they will be building it with a trac lock, would who ever that is send me the cross pin and pinion gears before they toss the diff? That is, if the gears arent already blued and the cross pin gauled. I do a lot of differentials here.

thats a 3.07 open rearend but the good news if you have a 5 speed like mine pull the open unit add the trac loc from yours and re shim and your in business.

To the best of my knowledge NO Mark VIII's came with anything other than an open diff. Most are 3.08 ratio but the LSC version got a 3.27. I've only ever found one of those in the junkyard and it happens to be in my garage as I type this. But ignore the many on-line references that say the 3.27's are Trak-loc from the factory. They are not, at least for the Mark VIII.
