Motors?

So, I pulled the motor out of my 90. Took the heads off and well two pistons blew apart. So now I need some advice. So I do have a parts car, ones an 89 five speed the other is a 90 auto. The 89 has over 300k on it. Not sure on the auto. Or would it be better to get a 94/5 block? The heads are also junk on the motor the I just pulled. Or just put a 351 in it? Mind you I have a lot of parts for the super coupe.

There's a guy who lives south of the Minneapolis. He parts thunderbirds out, would anyone have a link to his website?

If I do go with a 94/5 block, what should I save from my 90 block?

What are the pros and cons to using a 94/5 block?

The blocks are the same.

The connecting rods on the 94/95 are better as they are a floating wrist pin design

You'll want to use your oil pan as the 94/95 does not incorporate the low oil sensor.

I would use the windage tray from a 94/95

The timing cover on the 94/95 is different so you will need to use your old one. Replace the oil pressure relief valve in the timing cover.

The crankshaft dampner is different so you'll want to use yours

No advantage using the block, you will need the windage tray, main cap bolts, and the oil pickup tube to use the windage tray on the early block.
