Auto trans question

I have a customers SC in the shop right now with some transmission issues...

When the trans is cold, it won't shift out of 1st until you hit 4500 rpms....

The same thing happens going into 2nd, as well.....

After the trans warms up, it operates normal with very crisp shifts....

Anyone have any idea of whats going on and what to do to fix this issue.....

Trans has new fluid and filter....

Just found out that its not the original trans.....

Its a low mileage used trans that had been sitting for over 7 years....

I'm thinking varnish on the valve body.....

A sticky valve body or hardened seals. Sometimes when they sit they harden up.

I have a similar problem with my un-transgo-d VB. Once warmed up, everything's good. I belive its a 1-2 scheduling valve or 1-2 shift valve sticking. Different VB and everything works just fine.

Oh??? I had a horrible time with my transgo kit. That was the basic problem though.. wouldnt engage and wouldn't shift. ~~~! I never got it to work correct, so I put all the old parts back in and plugged the bypass ports. I have 2 more VBs to work with, but have given up on the aggravation. :(

The guys over on click-click racing forums swear by some additive called Lubegard Red to fix this kind of stuff.
