Door Speaker Clearance

Can anyone tell me how much distance there is between the door metal/mounting surface of the speakers to the inside of the door panel?

I am interested in trying to make a funky spacer/mount/adapter to install 6x9's or an 8" round speaker.

Wondering how far out I can go with such an adapter.

I'd be more concerned that the window can go down without interference...

8" Volvo could work

A Volvo 8" from an 04 V0 can fit.
It sets down in the opening with about 1" clearance for thewindow, and protrudes about 7/8" out sat the highest surface of the door surface.
Ths look like bout the max to still fit the door panel on ok.
However it needs a real funky shaped mount to provide proper baffling.

I don't have time for that now so I put back what I had in there for now,,,,, hich will likel be for a while!
