View Full Version : Carlisle 2013 Olive Garden Attendance & Time

Ok guys, once again I will arrange the Saturday Night Olive garden dinner. Some times I had a tuff time getting the back room.

I must say it has been difficult the past few years because other car clubs want our space. So this year I plan to do something different. I always need to give them a number of people and a time where we can reserve the space.

Time 7:45 PM. That gives us two hours for everyone to eat and Damon and company to give out the club prizes or whatever we are doing this year. Please advise of a better time because one of these years I want to watch the Bikini Contest too... :)

If you do not post here please see me Friday or Saturday afternoon you are coming. The more in advance, the better!

So please post up in this thread and reserve your spot at the Greatest and longest lasting SCCOA Dinner Tradition at Carlisle all Ford Nationals!
:)

Only piece I would check on is the times for the beauty contest and burnout... don't want to overlap.

Once you know a time, let me know I will add it to the printouts.

I looked and I could not find a schedule. The best I found from a 2011 3rd part forum post is:

7pm CARLISLE BURNOUTS!!!
8pm Ms. Carlisle Bikini Contest

Looks like 8:45 or 9:00 PM to me???? The time I found must be wrong because it will cause the dinner to interfere with the carts.

Since I miss the events reserving the dinner, can not find a real schedule, I will need some idea from people who been at the contests for the best dinner time.

My goal is to get close to 40 people by hook or crook (we need all the people we can get) in advance to hold the back room. We need at least 10-15 more than the usual suspects. If we can get the additional people, I may be able to see the contest's this year. :)

Crash00527
05-18-2013, 01:27 PM
That doesn't sound right at all. All the events always started between 4-5. We were always eating dinner by 8-9. Including time to get back to room. Change etc etc.

J dot Miller

I agree... I checked and it seems that most arrive at the Garden around 7:30 PM.

I'll be there. I think last year we got there at 8. I think the contests end about 5.

J dot Miller
05-19-2013, 07:52 PM
How about 7:45 PM? That way if you come at 8 you are not too late and things do not get delayed too much if the restaurants seating is delayed 10 or 15 min.

That'll be a nice change up for once. Or maybe even a diner. But i don't think there are any good ones in the area. Well maybe Harrisburg.

J dot Miller
05-24-2013, 07:09 AM
The Jersey Boys always liked the Mexican restaurant.

Will you be making extra sheets to place on and or in cars so we can try to increase our event attendance from those who just show up?

SCTBIRD1173
05-24-2013, 07:42 AM
My group has no plans for Friday dinner yet so we are interested in this as well. The Mexican place has always been good. We have also eaten at a place in Harrisburg by the water called Duke's Bar and Grill. It was very good and the waitress was hot too ;) http://www.dukesbarandgrille.com/index.html

Dukes sounds nice,

j.dot...I hope to be able to bring a laptop and printer hooked up to a power inverter to print welcome pieces for those who haven't registered. This would mostly be for dash plaques and name tags, everything else I'll just bring multiple copies.

J dot Miller
05-30-2013, 06:45 PM
Hence the reason for the thread. The more we can get upfront the less time I need to spend looking for 40 people and more beer I can drink. The last time I filled the room was when I had a Cougar club join with us.

This year, I am hoping we can recruit some of other Cougar/ Thunderbird non-supercharged guys or possibly some Torino boys (Gran Torino Sport.ORG)?

Tradition... As far as I can tell, the SCCoA has been at the garden every year since at least 2001.

I can't someone got me banned from that site because I protested him giving FF a hard time about typing in all capitol letters. I will not mention any names while sober...

All im going to say is that next year we need to get back on track and get this more organized. I personally welcome more people helping out. The more th emerrier however we need to stick to a format otherwise we end up with 10 carlisle 2013 threads. I gave up months ago because it was all over the place.

In the future we set up one official carlisle thread. We then setup individual threads for each of the sub events that can be modified by the person who has volunteered to take care of that particular sub event. I or whomever cna then update teh main thread with pertinant information. I'm really happy that people are getting on board with helping but its become a cluster.

ALL THAT BEING SAID..I think a joint sccoa/TCCO dinner would be cool. Teh question is what will the TCCOA bring to the table. The SCCOA is willing to help out on this event in the future. Would the TCCOA be able to help as well? For instance the saturday BBQ. It would be cool to make that a joint event....PERHAPS..we cna do a TCCOA/SCCOA joint registration so we can get a free tent....Of perhaps the TCCOA split cost son teh one we rent... Lets discuss at this years show..But the dinner for now..Good Idea...
