The car:
1995 5spd manual.
108k miles
Decent amount of mods by previous owner.
new mls head gaskets as of yesterday.
Junkyard Harmonic Balancer from almost a year ago.
bosch double platinum plugs.
new wires.
new crank sensor with HB a year ago.
15+ psi boost
crappy driveway exhaust.
New sensors all the way through the car... just about.
The last 2 months:
blew graphite cheapy head gaskets after going through the car in december and replacing these. Found out these won't hold boost so I replaced them. Replaced the spark plugs with the bosch. Lengthy tear down and rebuild to make sure everything was pristine (ocd).
Last night:
started it and it started first try and idled fine. Started it again later after replacing thermostat housing gasket. Pecked like crazy. 3rd time it stopped pecking and missfired horribly bad. Fearing the absolute worst I pulled cylinder 1 plug and it was covered in new oil. Long story short i pulled the valve cover and the intake rocker was way loose. Tightened last night and drove it.
The problem and the drive:
the car idled sooooooo smooth. It shifted like a dream. But..... under boost it shutters. Its a hard miss. Almost as if it is running on 2 cylinders. 1/2 throttle it will get to the speed and the boost I want. WOT it stutters in boost. Very noticeable. Violent shutter. I don't know how else to explain it. I could take a video if its really necessary. The car stays way cool. 180 tstat. No egr. Again the car shutters, stutters, misses, lacks power, bucks under boost.

Harmonic balancer.
