ABS Light

Hi guys, just wondering how you pull ABS codes from a 90 SC. I have read that you can do it without a code reader but nothing states how to put the computer in code reading mode.

You need a EEC-IV code reader, and to read Duffy Floyd's tome on the Teves Mk II ABS system.

Just follow your code reader's instructions on how to run a test.

Its odd. I think there's a way to get it to self trigger, but the ABS connector in the trunk doesn't have a separate lead similar to the EEC.

there is a way to use a paperclip inserted into the abs connector to make the abs light blink to read the codes. looking at the diagram there is a...

-light green yellow wire that goes to chassis ground
-white light blue wire that is the output, ie the same thing as the antilock brake light in the instrument panel.
-black wire that is the trigger

There is nothing in the manual that shows how to do this but i think you put the paper between light green wire and the black wire.
