If my car doesn't blow up at the shootout, I'm going to TMP Cayuga for one last kick at the can for the season.
When: Friday, October 18.
Track opens at 7:00 PM but I'm sure they will let you in an hour earlier to prep.
It cost 20 bucks if you are racing and 10 bucks to just watch.
Pretty cheap entertainment.
It is a test and tune day (I'm told the last one of the year so, sorry there is no rain date). Should be able to put down some good numbers with the weather being somewhat cooler.
Lets see some more t'birds than mine there.

Just wanted to let folks know that I am still going to the track on Friday night. The weather should be cooler and I hope to bust off a really good time. The fix I put on my car in Kentucky hasn't leaked a drop in 1000 kms. Tony said that he will be coming with me, shotgun, as he will be leaving his car at home. It's hard to convince the road course guys to try the drag strip.
It would be nice to see more than just me racing.
My insurance goes off for the winter next week so this is going to have to satisfy my lust for racing for 5 months.
Coming to watch is also worth the price of admission.

I talked to Payton. He said he was coming to the track. Curious to see what that TVS blower setup will do.

Show some patience folks. Didn't get home 'til after midnight.
I set a new personal best last night. 12.320 at 112.64 mph.
The track was not preped well and degaraded badly after that run. They closed one lane because somebody had an oops and yet he was allowed to keep running in the one open lane. The street squirrels with the street tires dirtied up the only open lane very quickly after that. I ran a 1.842 60' but the car wouldn't hook up. It was cold. Good for power, not so much for traction.
Payton was lighting up his tires most of the way down the track. He needs stickier tires and a better prepped and maintained surface. Not sure what his best was last night.

Great news.

Congrats

And a winter to come up with .3:eek:

I know D's lights it with minimal petal. Probably needs mid day sun and 50 ish temps.

Commited track prep wouldn't hurt.

Always a great time when you drive it home.

My biggest problem was traction and track preparation or lack of it. Basically I didn't have first gear regardless how hard I was warming up the tires. My best ET was 120.17 and I only trapped 13.05:rolleyes: Best time for the night was 12.333. Overall I was happy with the car. This blower has definitely more potential than my old AR. Also was pleased with fuel consumption. And car never got hot what so ever. I could''ve hotlapped all night long

Sounds like a sweet setup! Is that a 1900 TVS or 2300? Did DD help with the install or did you do it yourself?

Congrats:D

AHHHH you are killing me. :D Just make sure you have adequate octane in that beast. 23-24psi is known to melt pistons.....

Actually gas mileage was quite amazing: I drove 175km's to the track, at 120kmh, sometimes was stuck at traffic, went down the track 7 times and it only took 25 litters of fuel. I crunched the numbers and correct me if I am wrong, but that's like 18mpg...Oh yeah, temperature was 8 degrees Celsius last night.

You would know better.

Thinking on hot day.

Quiet tune.

Not sure though.

Sorryyy:p So my distance to the track was around 110 miles. My speed was close to 75mph. And after I finish racing i only needed 6.6 US gallons to fill up

The SC I am getting has 29k on it. Getting it in a few weeks. I would love to put one one the car and then she will be just what I am looking for

that or a compounf boost, always thought that would be a cool combo.
