Couple questions in regards to my 1990 XR7 Cougar. First, I want to know exactly what this part is called (metal bracket), as mine are kind of rotting out a little. Second, are there new bushings available for this application?
(edit) New linked below. Or source one off a wreck from a local yard or put an ad in 'want to buy' here, maybe. Photos and discuss on what can happen if the bushing center bolt's nut inside the body decides to spin here: http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1044917&postcount=98 - that's page 7 in that thread. Page 8 has a photo of that bracket.
If it's rusted, there may be other parts on the subframe that need attention too. Someone here was selling an entire rear end, I think - not sure if it includes the sub-frame: http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131759
I don't know of a source for fresh bushings for it, sorry.
Ford must have stamped about a million of these! With so many parts for our cars discontinued, I was surprised that I was able to buy two new ones last year (also for a nice cheap price).
