Did you get it back home?

Wow nice run cooler weather helps.

Was it still in the same spot or did they move it for you?:D What time did you get back to the track?

10-19-2013, 11:37 AM
no they didnt move it but they were on their time of the month it cost 25 bucks to go pick up the car.

I pulled the head and cyl 2 head gasket was gone between the water jacket and the combustion chamber....

and their is a sizable piece of aluminum missing in the same place:eek:

Very nice and congrats on the pb! Hopefully there is nothing wrong with the motor. How much timing and what octane were you running? Any idea what caused the cylinder head to explode:eek:?

10-20-2013, 03:32 PM
Not sure on the timing i wanna say 22.5 degrees top timing and roughly 100 octane

it appears to have lifted the head and pressurized the cooling system

Seems like you're at the limit of your octane. This is a 60-1 or 6031 turbo, garrett or precision exhaust housing? Could be back pressure issues with 218/224 cam on a smaller turbo on a .63 t3. If you could measure the turbo wheels that would tell a lot.

how big is the bore?

a 4.3 liter would require you go more than .030 on the bore, not very advisable

JT-the turbo is a te-60 garrett for a buick grand national. the a/r is .63. the i was launching around 5 lbs vacuum and still getting a 1.65 60'. the turbo spools fast as i imagine possible and again this is a true street car that i daily drive when i runs.

decipha- it is a .030 overbore

also, here is a video from friday against a supercharged mach 1

Nice job ! I agree that you probably need more octane or just add a methanol injection system.

That explains a lot. te60 is basically a 60-1 with t31 turbine. I suspect you are hitting a lot of backpressure with a 218/224 cam on a 4.3l. If you ever want to step it up you could make big power by a turbo upgrade. 6266 would make 500rwhp on 15psi pump gas and still make a butt load of low end tq.

The times in my sig were on 15psi with 6262 .63. I'd probably be closer to 105mph with a .82ar t4 housing.
