I was just wondering if it really matters what kind of oil we use? I used to use pennzoil for my 1990 N/A, then i got my SC so i started using quaker state, now i have Kendell in there.......synthetic mobil 1 i hear is the best, but does it really matter? feel free to post your recommendations and why, and any interesting info on this-- thanks, ive always been curious about this.

I've always used Valvoline, and have never had an oil related problem. From 10W40 to 50 weight racing oil, It's always worked for me.

Quaker state is probably the worst IMO. It gums up and turns into sludge in the engine. Take an engine apart after its had QS in it for awhile and you will see. You cant beat frequent Mobil 1 oil changes!

Golden state rules!
Did you ever see that commerical where the guy says "motor oils motor oil" I believe that.
I have run every type out there and some times I have to fill it up with oil and check the gas because of leaks. I have had valve covers off the intake and every engine I have had is clean as a whistle. I haven't had an oil related failure either. Only headgaskets, a piece of fiber caught in a lifter, and a collapsed pushrod.
My 2 cents
Jeff
