Hello. First of all... Im from Estonia, small country in europe. so sorry for bad english.
but im owning an 90īs Supercoupe. In Estonia there is only 3 of those. so there arent many people with knowhow and so.
i bought the car few months ago and so far i love every mile with it.
i dont know a lot about it yet. but it has highflow exhaust witch is very loud.
under the hood there is Cold Air Intake installed and on a supercharge pulley, there is written " 5% performance" is that a performance pulley or original?
i dont know what else to write about im just getting to know this car.
unfortunatelly i already crashed it too.. with a front end. nothing serious. but some parts needed.
here are some photos and video for you

Welcome, nice ride and thanks for posting the video and pics... These cars are alot of fun. I am curious, how did you come across the supercoupe? Were you specifically looking for one or did you just happen to stumble upon by circumstance? It must be cool driving a vehicle that not alot of people have where you are from. I guess it really sticks out in a crowd. Soudns real good from the video. If it has the 5% written on the pulley than it is definitely upgraded. How many pounds of boost are you getting at wide open throttle?

Also you came to the right place. The people on this forum are awesome and will help you out with any questions you may have. I real tight knit of enthusiasts all sharing the same joy that you have driving your SC.

Thank you for the warm welcome.
well.. stumbled on it, when my friend told me that he is moving to norway and his car will be available and i can buy it cheaply from him. i said sure.. what car is it. then he said thunderbird... my first thought was the 60īs thunderbird... ~~~~ i can never afford it. then i saw the car... loved it and after a lil testdrive it was decided. and thats how i got it... best buy ever...

if everything goes well then at the end of this year i really want to strip the engine and start rebuilding it and do some modifications. then im probably gonna ask a lot of dumb questions around here :D

also im looking for a good webstore or smtn, where i can scout for some parts.
i looked from www.rockauto.com but there arent so many parts to find.

oh, and the boost is 15 when im flat out

Nice looking car!

See these sites for SC items:

Also, be sure to monitor the parts for sale forum [ http://www.sccoa.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41 ] here, but make sure sellers know you are in Estonia ;)

Enjoy your SC.

Car looks nice! Sounds like it runs good too. Welcome to the club. We all have kind of a sick obsession with these cars but it's worth it as you have discovered.

Gotta love the torque from the SC!

Welcome you are in the right place.

Also XR7Dave is the guy who has taken the SC out of the dark ages. You need something email him!

I take it your SC is a 5spd by the donuts! Nice, car sounds good. How many miles?

HAHA... yeah we do, but its an american car and im in a american forum:D

everybody thanks for the good words and welcomes

it has 5speed ATM if thats possible:D

oh and i lied..:D it does 10+ PSI i dont know even why i said it 15 before.

all these good words and supports does really give a good push to go further with it... my own plan was to strip the engine, fix everything what needs to fixing. new gaskets, oils, plugs and other basic stuff and then load it up with NOS 100hp each side?... because it seems that all other modifications are going to be quite expensive... once again sorry for bad english :D

cheers

one question: i could get an Eaton M90 Supercharger for 400dollars... do i have anything to do with it?

decipha
11-09-2013, 01:58 PM
thats whats on it now, the stock blower is an eaton m90

you can upgrade to the 94-95 blower but youll have to get larger injectors and a chip so the ecu can control them correctly

car looks and sounds good!!

The spark plugs are a real pain in the butt. I did mine a few weeks ago. The hardest part is getting the wires to click back onto the spark plug. See below link about changing the spark plugs.

http://www.albeedigital.com/supercoupe/articles/plug_changing.html

http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44531&highlight=changing+plugs

Someone will fill you in on the supercharger. Haven't done anything to mine at this point.

How is the SC received over in Europe. The lines of the car, interior, etc. Do people like the car and it's looks or do they not care for it?

RoomstaT-bird
11-11-2013, 02:23 PM
Well.. so far. 95% dont even know what car is this.. some are calling it mustang?:D everybody loves it..how can you not love SC:D

after my car there is 2 more SC in Estonia. i ve heard that in finland there is around 30, in germani about 20.. never heard or seen it in Lithuania or in latvia.

parts are really hard to find...
there is some parts what are universal like, filtersīs fuel pumps and some running gear stuff. but they are very expensive.
plus nobody except pro Drag racers and so, dont know anything about supercharges and so.

Fuel pump 150 Euros...that is 200 dollars. is that ok?

XxSlowpokexX
11-12-2013, 10:46 PM
Hey WELCOME! You would want to get an upgraded pump if you change. Get a 255lph forced induction replacement. Not a stock replacement. And that is high by US standards

Hi again..

havent written anything in a while. but lil update here
first of all i broke my waterpumpbearing after using water in the cooling system plus something broke in the engine. after i forgot water in and outside temp. fell to minus 20 celcius. after that theres a hole somewhere in the back of the engine and all the coolant is literally pouring out.
at the end of the weekend will rip it all out and see whats wrong...

just ordered some stuff for now...
new waterpump
fuel filter
fuel pump(bosch)
oilfilter
sparkplugs+wires(Bosch double platinum)
SC oil
cost 300dollars

but now if im getting my Nos system, then ill gotta change sparks and fuelpump again...

Cheers

You probably popped a freeze plug.

Water and -20 is a no no. :)

BLOWN38
02-12-2014, 11:23 AM
Yeah check freeze plugs before you pull the motor.

RoomstaT-bird
02-12-2014, 12:46 PM
Freeze plug???popped?
from my translatation point. its a simple plug which you can easily pop in back?:D

my biggest fear is that the block is frozen and cracked..

KMT
02-12-2014, 01:21 PM
Might is be one of the freeze plugs on a head, in the back?
59765

Freeze plugs are designed to pop out when the block freezes and while there are freeze plugs you can install by hand, you need to check the extent of any damage...might be cracks internally, lifted heads, etc. If you can get another plug in that one location, you might be able to pressure test the system to see if that's all that happened. -20 C (-4 F) is serious, I think.

Thank you for the info... i quess i have to remove the engine to confirm it and fix it? ill probably gonna too it anyway, but im afraid its not gonna be an easy project...

Hello again... Its been a while again.. but here i am
i still have the car but its just been sittin in the garage...

But i do have some things that iīve done...

If you remember, i blew my freezeplugs..
So i changed em and luckily theres no bigger damage inside the engine.
i also changed sparkplugs and wires.
and waterpump...

As i moved lately, i finally got MY OWN PERSONAL garage... i know in US its problably a usual thing.. but i have dreamed about it for years... now i have it...
needs some work and some adjustment, but still.. and as i drove my t-bird in it, i just couldnīt keep my hands away from the car.. so... Moving on to my next plans... Strip everything out and gonna do a big refreshing to the car... with new rms, interios, colour and maybe some other adrjustments... because thereīs no point driving with this car in the winter so.. i have about 5-6 months to strip it apart and put it back together...
Some pics...(sorry my camera is good as a potato) :D

Hi again.. its been a long time.. but i still have the car and im still trying to build it...
actually havent done anything in 7months with it.. but once again- its the time :D

today i towed it to the workshop where i can start fixing it and repainting it.

ALSO IM LOOKING FOR 10% SC PULLEY AND 80+mm TB.
I HAVE 2 WEEKS TO FIND THEM, my friend is coming to visit me and i can the get these parts from her.
She is living in SC/Raleigh... so PLEASE, if you have etc. let me know.. Sheīll buy em from you and sheīll bring em to me at the end of July...

started with bodywork

and new polished heads

Oh and anothe rquestion..

is there a point putting an 80/85/90mm throttlebody
to a stock block.
will be running with CAI, 10% SC pulley, polished cylinderheads.
or what else i should do to raise the effiency?

XR7 Dave
07-02-2015, 08:20 AM
There is no point in using that big of a TB on a stock engine, 70mm is big enough and even that will require some port matching on the plenum. I see the picture of the heads you posted - you should know that those are NOT SC cylinder heads so that is possibly one reason why you are having trouble with them blowing head gaskets.

In order to make more power or boost than what you are with the 10% pulley you must upgrade to larger fuel injectors and fuel pump, and whenever you do that you must also get a chip to match up the parts. The MAF is also most likely near or at its maximum.

The one thing that most people do once they get to your level is fabricate up a front mount intercooler. If it's quite hot where you live then you should also consider a bigger/better radiator and a 180 deg themostat (again that requires a chip).

RoomstaT-bird
07-02-2015, 07:28 PM
Oh okey.. thank you for the information..
so next step shouldnīt be TB-, it should be injectors and chip... i have several fuelpumps in the garage(bosch 044, escalade outer pump, and some other, powerful pumps.')
these head cylinders arent the same what i have atm. my friend had em on a NA 3.8- he just gave em to me..he told me, that they should do the job... but as i understand they donīt fit/work correctly on my car?

maximum temp. here is in some days during the summer 95F. mostly its around 75-80.- is the FMI relevant with these tempetatures? other hand, its not that hard to build it also.

thank you for the help once again.

Regards.

after watching that burnout its no wonder you already wrecked..these cars are poor on any surface other than nice clean warm pavement.
hopefully its an easy fix for you,and throwing around the rear end like that with no extra bracing ur asking for trouble.its an old car, make shur its solid befor you treat it like a new car..
good luck and sweet find !

07-06-2015, 05:31 AM
well actually i kinda did all those things on purpose, i wanted to push the car to the max and see if something breaks... after a year full of these things... something hasnīt broken down yet.. except cylinder heads and Freezeplugs...
the way i see it. its a strong car...

Well... i got my first package from US... 10% pulley for SC..(Thank you ScarSC)!!!
however meanwhile... i got a sweet price on a M112 charger...
is the 10% pulley sitting on the M112?
and i guess the car has to wait couple of more months, because fitting and modifing everything gonna take some time again...
new headers, FMIC, injectors, pump, ECU, MAF, TB...
can anyone suggest which parts should be normal- i mean TB-mmīs? injectors? etc?.
and around where should the power be finally? around? 350hp?

You should post your technical questions in the Technical Forum. That forum gets a lot more traffic than this one.
