Would it be the same if I pulled a M5R2 out of a 2005-2008 V6 FORD F150? Just wondering, because there are tons of trucks in the junk yard, but no Thunderbirds whatsoever. I was just wondering what the differences are if any.. Should be the same "Mazda" transmission anyways..lol

M5R2 Applications
◦87-up Ford F150 Pickup 5 Speed Manual
◦88-92 Ford Bronco Bronco 5 Speed Manual
◦88-89 Ford Econoline 5 Speed Manual
◦91-up Ford Thunderbird 5 Speed Manual RKE

Thanks for the responses.. No wonder it is so much harder to find one for this car.. I found a site that sell trannies but couldn't find the actual "link" for a SC but if you follow the M5R2 from a bronco it says it's compatible which is why I brought the question up. http://www.smartpartsauto.com/manual_transmission_m5r2_mazda.html

Been a while since I looked at the parts car trans I have in the back of the shop, but none of the pictured transmissions in the pics on the site have the shifter/ tail housings the SC needs. If you can send a busted core back in their supplied packaging for shipping (how I did with my G-force) and get the CORRECT trans that is a pretty good price

Yea, $655 for a good rebuild doesn't seem like a bad price really, I know a good rebuild kit runs around $300+ depending on what you wanna spend plus another $300+ for someone to rebuild it. I have an automatic now and almost regret selling the M5R2 for cheap out of my parts car..
