I am going to remove my engine from my car, and I have a 1000 lbs engine stand. It's easier for me to work on the engine on the stand than in the car. Anyone know what is the weight of the complete engine from oil pan to supercharger, and all pulleys and accesories? I doubt its over 1000 lbs, but I want to be safe and not have any incidents.

not sure but a complete cast iron big block can weight around 700-900lbs and small block 500-600lbs. our V6's don't weigh nearly that much

Thanks, I did a first search, but couldn't find anything, guess I didn't search hard enough.

I guess you have an answer already, but I know the complete engine I bought was roughly 470 lbs

The block supposedly weighs around 110 pounds.

Additionally I've had my sc engine on a 750 stand for about two months. Just make sure the bolts securing it to the stand are grade 8 and go into the block as far as possible. Thread size is M10-1.5

Hope this helps.
