hey...i know there is rules about non sc stuff, but i figure this relates cause it saves wear and tear on my sc,and you all no what youre talking about.anyhow...my 86 S-10 2.8L has a cooling problem.now that i just put new cooling parts on the sc,my little truck is starting up! the temp gauge goes 3/4 the way up within 5 miles, crashes back down to 180,then remains in that area for ever, until the next day, then it starts all over again.why would it go up that far, then cool back down and stay there? radiator was cleaned, new waterpump, therm, rad cap.is this the sign of something big,or keep driving it? it must be something in the air, like i say,i just did all this crap on my sc! thanks for any input...

Malfunctioning thermostat?
Yes, I know it's new, but you do get the odd bad one.
