This is 2014 only, 1/4mi only. Ill post up an example format, and you can reply to this thread or PM in that format and Ill copy and paste if it falls in the top 15. Must be a ford mn12. Any power adder, any tire, any motor, dont care. Theres really no rules here, just a list to show the top 15 fastest guys of 2014(you driving your car!). I dont need pics of time slips, Ill take what Im told. If you see bs from someone, say it. You can comment and post in here also. Someone can sticky this if they want.

Phil....that's a great 60'!!!!

It really is, insanely impressive, probably has a lot to do with those bushings. Are your subframe bushings stock phil? I hope I can come close to that short time this year.

XR7 Phillip
05-08-2014, 10:50 AM
Both the subframe bushings and rear diff mount are stock. I launched at 4900 rpm according to the datalog. I think it has a lot to do with the bushings. Absolutely no wheel hop.

Tires are M/T drag slicks. 26" tall and 8" wide on a 15" rim. Funny thing is that they are like ten years old...

Good point I will check that when the new belts get here. I did find the lower belt Idler pulley was bent slightly so I changed it.

Is xr7 Dave racing this year? Sarah and I have been to the track once, but I didn't post them up. Too much tire spin to break any records, but I'm sure I would have with the white car. Smaller tires made it pull hard.

The above was my best pass at the Shootout. I was getting better 60ft times than previous times at this track, so I guess all that Delrin suspension stuff is working. Race conditions were not very good, and I had a misfire on every pass that was slowing me down a little on the top end. With better weather and smooth running motor I think a 10.8 is possible. Here's the time slip.

Not wanting to offend anybody, but can you describe your car? Can you post an acutual time slip? Do you possibly have a video? I think this would be the sh-- if you are doing this with a six and not an eight. Back in the day (like 30 years ago) I had a ten second Nova with a stick it was a blast at the track and a royal pain on the street. The cops all hated me and i paid the price.

Well I managed to get to pull out a 12.273 @ 111 with Phil and Tom yesterday with Island. Tried for lower but the changes I made to the tune I think made it worse by a tenth, so I went back but had not time to test it since time was up. That's not only the fastest pass this year in a 5 spd sc. It is possibly the fastest pass ever in a 5 speed can you post a pic of the time slip? I am a 5 speed guy so knowing that this is possible is encouraging but for your benefit and for it to be recorded on the site as an official pass I think a picture of the time slip is required.

First off i am not new to the SC game. I have been around for along time as a lurker and have really not been much of a forum person. I've had my 95 since new and have owned five supercoupes total. Getting a good time out of a five speed took alot of work and alot of modifications! The car has really just started to come together in the last year. I have been trying alot of new stuff for along time and plan on marketing some of the parts that i use since i have alot of time and money invested. I will divulge a few of my secrets but not all of it as i do not want others to run out and start making money off my ideas. I will not be an information hoarder per say, but i will be more than happy to sell these parts at a reasonable cost one i am done with my research and development.

The engine is a high compression 3.8 ran strictly on c16 with a state of the are progressive nitrouse system
The blower is m90 based
The rear end is still IRS with custom tubular control arms that eliminate all wheel hop
The transmission is still m5r2 but has alot of custom machined parts the big one being the gear set with lightened billet gears and custom ratios
The clutch is a two stage custom built unit

so far this combination is proving it self very well and i expect to improve even more with time. I will be bringing it to the shootout next year and hope to have some of these parts in production at that time. Not only will you be able to see how they work but be able to purchase them at a reasonable cost. I have been working with my good friend and master fabricator for years on this and all the hard work is starting to pay off

You probably don't have to worry about anyone making money off your ideas. Around here no one makes any money on anything, not enough buyers. lol But if you can actually make something and not lose your butt on it then you've got something going!

I agree the 60ft is a bit off, Phil pulled 1.59 60ft running a full second slower in the 1/4. I don't find the time to be out of line at all, I'm glad you posted because I know people are doing things with SC's that the "normal" club doesn't know anything about. I don't think 10's are all that difficult with a 5spd using the right hardware. Phil's car ran 11's on pump gas and is a full on daily driver. I am definitely surprised to see you doing it with an M5R2 though. They are kinda fragile at that power level!

The 60' is a bit low because of how we have the progressive nitrous controller setup. It comes in very easy off the line. And yes the m5r2 is very fragile in stock form! My gearset is machined from a special titanium alloy which is very expensive but so far has held up well. Also my blockers are made from a milspec aircraft grade carbon fiber. Thinking outside the box has really paid off on this build and with some tweaks to the nitrous I expect to shave more off my et in the weeks to come!

I updated the combined SCCoA / TCCoA / MAMN12.com list at TCCoA with this years Shootout times.

See the Current Times List HERE (http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?p=1625321#post1625321).

I also maintain an All-Time Best Times List at TCCoA. You can see that list HERE (http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?t=141699).

These are the most comprehensive lists of MN12 times on the internet. So take a look at where the MN12 racing community is at nationwide! I'll be updating the list again shortly after the Carolina Thunder Thanksgiving meet, stay tuned for more new times!

Congrats to all who added a new time or updated their previous time at this years Shootout.

The biggest mover that I noticed was Sarah Lichtsinn who dropped about 4 tenths off of her time from last year. Congrats Sarah!

You missed Phil's best time in your TCCOA list. He ran 11.95 last year.

You also have him on there 2x right now so might want to fix that. :)

Well I gave er a shot for 11s and didn't get enough passes to get there. went a 12.079 at 111.30. I got more blower issues, I got to tear it apart and see whats going on.

I gave it 10% more over drive to get an 11 second time slip but it happens.
