Removing 90 Fuel Tank

Is it necessary to drop the exhaust when dropping the fuel tank? I know you can cut a hole under the right back passenger seat.
I doubt the owner(my son) would entertain that thought. I'd really rather not drop the exhaust, at the moment it is stock and there is a flange at the back end of the resonator.

PS:changing the fuel pump to 190lph Holley(with the correct sock for our tanks)

You could probably leave the exhaust on and try to drop the tank around it but it would likely be more frustrating than just dropping the exhaust and taking the heat shields off. Not f really that big of a deal especially if the bolts at the resonator are free. My car has a 2 piece exhaust on it. I unbolt it at the manifolds and then the y at the mufflers. Yes it could be worse. Just drop the exhaust.
