? about long block engine vs OEM engine

I been searching and can't find any definite answers. what is the difference between the long block and factory SC engines? are there any modifications that need to be done to get the long block to fit? does the long block make more power? will it mate up to the factory tranny auto or manual?

can anyone explain the differences

I've heard there were over 200 changes that are particular to the SC's 3.8L motor.

Which 'long block' are you talking about? They're all 'OEM' engines... Keep in mind there are something like 13 base engines alone.

I think you're confusing general engine terminology. A shortblock is an engine block assembled with a rotating assembly. Add heads to that and you have what is known as a longblock.
