I have a 1989 tbird sc, 5 spd. my switch came apart. The Part of the switch that is Metal. It has 2 screws holding it in. The problem I have is The switch has 1 wire coming from it to a Single plug. That Wire connects to a Little switch on the Main Metal switch. Where on the Switch does it go?? Also, Where can I get a new one? What does it control? No one shows a Pic of it. Can anyone Send me a Complete pic of the switch. Then I will know. Thanks, God Bless.

Are you talking about the multi-wire switch down on the right side of the steering column inside the dash? Like this: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...rd/_/N-igp61Z9rigt?itemIdentifier=368100_0_0_

However, it sounds like you're talking about the lock cylinder where the key goes in and the single wire that helps detect if the key is left fully plunged into the cylinder. If so, see comment #41 in this thread: http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?86809-Broken-Key-In-Ignition&p=612996#post612996

Can't reply to your pm you for some reason.

No idea about new, sorry.

Mine was nearly broken and I snagged a good one off a wreck in a junk yard. I think it might be a common part for '89 thru '95, at least. If there is a junk yard near you, you might want to check. I might be able to dig up another used one.

Do you understand how it fits, etc.?

Ken
