Hey Fellers, I have an 89 with 48k miles, and after it has warmed up, when I go to start it after it has sat for maybe 10-15 minutes it is really hard to start, but if it sits 30 minutes or longer it isnt. I know that doesnt make since but thats what its doing. Any ideas why?

Thanks

A sensor is getting heat soaked and not working. Try pulling the connector off the Cam position sensor and see if it stars after 2-3 cranks or starts better than when it's connected. Possible crank position senor as well but less likely. the ICM might be bad and you can have that tested at an AP store. My Napa wouldn't do it but O'rielly did.

PS the ICM needs to have Heat sink compound applied to it. that's what that white film is under it. If you are wondering and wipe it off to clean it up. New stuff can be purchased at Radio Shack.

Mine was doing the same thing. It was the cam sensor... My crankshaft sensor also went about a week after I changed the cam sensor.
