cams and rods

Been doing spring cleaning in the garage this week. In doing so a couple of questions popped up.

While moving the SC to fix the coolant leak I noticed a little lope at idle. Are stock cams known for doing this under certain conditions? I know Mustangs of the same vintage can. Curious if the SC does too or if a PO at have stuck something else in it

What is the correct rod for the SC spec engine? Of the 2 engines I have there are two different rods. 1 had oiling holes the other did not. Which is correct?

If it has a lope then you have a vacuum leak or a stuck valve. Both are common after long sitting periods. SC's do not lope.

Both rods are correct, just depends on the year. Check part numbers to verify.

Thanks Dave. Shouldn't be a vacuum leak as nothing has changed. Stuck valve could be possible though more in the form of I haven't checked the rocker arms since the intial fire of the engine. Does have a small exhaust tick though that sounds like it is in the manifold. Will check thanks for the pointer.

Any preference on the rod as which is more desireable?
