Changed turn signal arm and now lights are screwy

So when I put back my interior I got around to swapping my original sun faded turn signal armature with a replacement from a forum member that I bought a while ago. I realized tonight with my headlights on the bright indicator doesnt turn off whether I turn the brights on or not. Also with the headlights on and the signal arm in the normal position the just the brights are on. When I pull it back it then adds the regular lights as well. Its acting weird. Could it be the wrong year??? All the harnesses fit fine. I also cant get the signal to automatically disengage when making left turns. Any thoughts? Anyone have another signal arm they want to sell me for my 89 SC that is not sun faded...

Did the color and part code match? Even same year ('89~'93) can use a different switch depending on.

Quoting the-big-e from an older thread:

When you take the MFS off you will see the module attached to it.....

It will be green or blue.....

Look for a set of letters on your switch.....

You will find the letters BAD or CAD on it somewhere.....

You must match whatever you find in the yards to yours....

yep - they're different depending on the autolamps option. You can disassembly and reconfigure, but I would not recommend it!!
