Must sell my favorite car, and parts donor car.... $2,000 for the pair.

Here are some details on the cars, I'll post some photos this week when time allows.. The first is a 1990 SC, Silver with grey leather interior, and automatic transmission (Jasper remanufactured with better components). I bought this car from my Aunt in 1997 or so, and it was my daily driver until 2000 when the brakes ceased to have power assist. After a little troubleshooting, with no factory shop manual, and little in the way of knowledgeable people, I took it to my local small town Ford dealer (who knew next to nothing about these brake systems), they put it on the computer, and said one of the electrical parts on the master cylinder (solenoid?) wasn't getting power, but couldn't tell me why, nor were they interested in looking further into it. I did some minor troubleshooting, also testing the dealer's theory about the piece not getting power, by unplugging that part on an identical 1990 SC, and driving it. That car's brakes worked fine, other than the dash brake/ABS lights coming on. In hindsight, that quick test drive may have just relied on the pressure in the accumulator since I only had to stop once. Knowing more now, it could be as simple as a bad relay.. Anyway, the car has been sitting since 2000, only driven here and there around a parking lot or two. The clear coat started peeling a couple years ago, and it looks a little ratty now. There are now a few things that have gone bad from sitting. The rear calipers are frozen, the ignition switch is a little loose and not secure in the column (not tampered with, just loose), and last time I tried to start it a year ago, the starter had gone bad. The car was a great running car before the brake problem, and I absolutely loved it. It got put on the back burner with work, family, bills, etc.. and I never got around to fixing it. If somebody had the time to put into it, it could be a good car again. The problems I listed earlier are pretty simple and inexpensive to repair/replace. The body is still in good shape, and the car is complete. The front bumper cover is broken on the passenger side bottom, from pulling up too far on a snow covered curb one extremely cold winter day. This also caused the right front fender to flex at the center of the wheel well, making a chunk of paint pop off. Other than those, there are no dents, dings, or rust on the body.

The 1989 SC was purchased 4 or 5 years ago from an older guy who was a SCCOA member. If memory serves me right his name was William Bell, he lived in MD. He was a great guy who was clearing out some things and didn't want this car to go to the crusher. The story was that he bought it from a man whose son took it for a drive one rainy day. The kid spun it around at a fairly low speed, bouncing it off a guard rail. It was also a good running car, just with a fair amount of body damage in various places around the car. The guy I bought from had used some parts from the doors, and an electrical part from under the hood, but the car is mostly complete too. This one is also a silver car, with grey leather interior, and automatic transmission. As I mentioned, it's a little beat up on the outside, but a great parts donor car if nothing else.

I'm looking to sell these cars as a pair, as they're sitting in the parking lot where I work, and I've been asked to move them soon. I live in a development with an HOA, and a 1 car garage, so bringing them home is not an option. I don't have the time to invest in them, so I figured they'd be best served to go to someone here that can appreciate these great cars. I definitely have a clean title for the 1990 car. I'll have to check on the title for the '89, it's been a while since I've seen it, but I'm pretty sure I still have it too. I just found out I have to move the cars, so will have to work on getting this all together this week. To the best of my memory, the '89 had a regular MD title, but could be a salvage title.

I'm asking $2,000 for the pair, which I think is very fair. I might consider some kind of trade for them if it's an equal value. Quality tools, motorcycles (dual sport, dirt or street), LEGAL firearms, etc... I'll take a few photos this week and post them here for anyone who may be interested. If interested, please post here with your contact info, and I'll get back to you. I'm a new member, so still new to how everything on the site works as far as messaging, posting pics, etc., so bear with me. These cars are located in Stafford, VA 22554 a little less than a mile off of I-95 if you're interested. Thanks, Jim

Hey guys, no luck with photos today, raining most of the day. If anybody has ANY interest in these cars, please let me know... I'm definitely willing to negotiate on my price, and am open to any and all offers. I know that once I get some pictures up it will help. If anyone has any questions, let me know, I'd be happy to answer them.

Hey guys, I was hoping I'd hear something from a member by now about my cars, but not a peep. I know I haven't posted any photos, so that's probably not helping either, huh? I was able to take some pictures today, but not able to post them at the moment. Like a lot of other people whose posts I've read, I'm having a difficult time getting them up on the site. If you could see the pictures you may be surprised that the 1990 is not as bad as I may have made it out to be in my first post... So, in an effort for non members to see and ask about the cars too.... (I've frequented this website since at least '98-99 and only recently become a member, I can't be the only one!) I'm putting my email address up for those interested until I can post the pics here. Please email me at jarmbrester2@gmail.com if you're truly serious, and would like to see pictures of these cars. If any member here wants to be generous and help me out with advice/help posting photos, any help would be greatly appreciated! I might even throw you a set of new rear rotors for your help! They've got a little surface rust from sitting forever, but bought new, never mounted... If not, then I'll just keep messing with it until I figure it out. Thanks!

Thanks Caifan, you're the man! Guys, I'd like to have the cars sold in a month or so. So if you like them, but the asking price is scaring you away, just say so. As I said in one of my posts before, I'm open to any and all offers. Though I have a strong attachment to the 1990 car, I'm not going to be offended by a low offer. The worst I can say is no... My main goal is for the cars to go to somebody who knows and appreciates what they are, that's why I posted them here. I couldn't bear to see them go to a crusher, or to rot away behind somebody's shed.

If I didn't already have 5 car's I would seriously entertain picking these up from you.

I am pretty sure the fiancee would question my judgement also this close to the wedding date buying project cars.
