I have a set of steig heads from back in the day never used and I want to upgrade the springs for a .600 lift cam. Any information as to what springs/locks/retainers to but and any seat machine work needed would be appreciated

Thanks!

I run the 6105 at 540 lift.

These should handle your application.

Seats will have to be machined. ( $100.00 up here)

I installed Manley Retainers and Crane Locks. (Don't have the specs but pretty sure 10 degree )

Hope this helps

You need to goto a 1.8" installed hieght spring which requires machining the spring seat. Talk to dalke he can hook you up!

The reference to machining was to expand the seat diameter for fit.

Installed height is 1.8

I've been to 6500 rpm trouble free.

Sorry

That sounded worse then intent.

No load 6500

Loaded around 6200 and change.

Im not sure how he did these heads. Ill have to measure the seat to see what I have. Maybe Dave knows. I believe these were only good up to a .540 or so lift originally

Mine were good to 600 lift 1.8 installed height comp beehive springs with orange stripe on them. If you call stegemier he can tell you exactly what they are equipped with by the serial # on the heads.

Maybe I'm on the wrong track all together.

I calculate lift from installed height minus lift height.

These are the springs I use at 541 lift.

If you go to the Show All icon and head to the bottom of the page.

Installed height is 1.812

Open height is 1.260

Lift range is 552 Again I run 541 lift.

The 6105 Sp Springs I mentioned previously install at 1.8

Open is 1.75

Lift range is 625

It was recommended to me to have at least 10 thou overage for valve train compensation.

They are also a firmer wire gauge and higher seat pressure.

Again I may be totally off course here, and I'm sure I'll hear from someone but your not cutting into the heads for depth with these springs.

You are re cutting the radius so they seat properly.

They are larger diameter than stock.

Thee heads came with the titanium locks and retainers non beehive springs. Its how he used to supply them which probably changed at some point
