Well yesterday starter died and now car is a pain to get to fire, just figured out Starting fluid will get it started though still have stalling issue with code 212 (loss of IDM/Spout grounded). Have ICM checked and passed, new DIS harness, Dave Check EEC and Chip they pass, Cam and Crank sensors only 1yr old (no change on their replacement).

Anyone have any idea? Like why now why it start better with Starting fluid (will be putting pressure gauge on it tomorrow, but have pressure at rail/valve).

My code 212 turned out to be a spark plug wire (#5) shorting to ground. Car got up to temp and would shut off. Explains the SPOUT short to ground. (SPark OUT).

Changed wires and no change.

Should I be getting Tach response while cranking (I show 0 RPM)?

Good evening

Sounds like a fuel system problem. Suspect lean condition during start when engine starting fluid is used. Did you install the fuel pressure gauge? Are the pressures within limits? Was the rest (or residual) pressure leak check good?

Good luck.
