Do ya'll really believe in a break-in period for replacing headgaskets only?
Seen a few guys mention hundreds, up to 1500 miles before they consider there HGs seated/sealed/whatever.
I can't really see much break-in really being of use, other then perhaps a heat cycle or two.
I figure the tightest there gonna seal is the day you torque them down...
Any fors or against waiting for x number of miles before getting on the throttle?
If it makes any difference to the opinions, this will be done with factory style HGs, ARP studs, and copper spray.
My leakage is intermittent, under heavy boost as far as can tell. Haven't found evidence of coolant in oil. And it held pressure from the pressure tester at 12ish pounds overnight. Will probably take heads to machine shop to check straightness.
