JBL amp remote on don't work, any other existing accessory or ign source in trunk?

This is for a 1990 model.

I have the factory premium head unit and CD combo with my own line level converters and such going to my amps.

I have had a couple of different amps in the car before, and that factory remote amp wire line has worked for other amps but not this one.

I've actually used it this way for years with a manual switch sending power to the amps remote on terminal.

I am getting 12v at the wire, and it seems to rarely/intermittently turn the amp on but always has 12v.

I imagine there is just too much draw for some reason...

Is there another power source in the trunk I could use?

I looked around in the package tray, etc., and checked the EVTM, and the amp's factory lead is it for size.

Or are you just looking for a turn on and you've run your own feed?

Shot in the dark, did you try running a wire off of the yellow/black off the back of the head unit? If memory serves, I believe this is a 12v acc switched.
