How to tell when clutch is dieing

Hey I was just wondering what the symptoms are of a dieing clutch? I've heard that when the clutch has very little travel length which will actually move the car is one symptom. Is this true with our cars? What are some other ones? Also whats the normal life expectancy for a stock clutch? Thanks.

i replaced my clutch around 130k miles and that was only because the tranny was out getting the synchonizers replaced. right now i have over 164k but i suspect the clutch master cylinder is leaking and will be replaced once i find the cash.

setting the ebrake on. and letting the engine stall while letting the clutch out is one way.if it stalls then you still have some grip.

Mine seems to be on its last legs. This morning it really showed up in slippage and really starteled me. Is there a few choices for clutch replacement. I wanted a Dual Friction but don't have DF money, so I've heard Mcleod is a good replacement and Luk is a alternative. Anyone have anything to add?
