Can anyone tell me what all connections are on the ground cable, 1989 S/C?
All grounds, or just the larger ground cables inside the engine bay?

I found my answer. connections are battery on one end on the other engine, core support, and 1 unidentified plug in, good enough for what I needed

Be sure that includes the short cable from the pass. side motor mount bracket over to the body.
Individual ganged harness grounds are identified via the EVTM for your year SC.

That plug in isn't unidentified; it's the ground for the ECU, and is rather required to keep your Ford from becoming a bit schizoid.
As in "Am I a V6, a V8? I know! Let's do SEVEN cylinders per revolution!!! Bwahahahaha!!!!!!" kind of schizoid.
