ARC system question

1990 Cougar XR7 with ARC system. When I hit the switch, the dash light indicates the system is on but the actuators do not do anything. Not sure how this system works or if a fuse went. ( don' t know what fuse is used) Any anyone suggest some steps to try and locate the problem?

Thank you very much.

Try disconnecting one of the actuators to see if the light flashes.

Does the light come on (switch off) when you hit the brakes, turn quickly and hard accelerate?

Fuse is #12, right in the middle - 15amp.

Note that fuse has several other jobs, so if it's the problem, you'll know when the others don't work either:

#12:
  • A/C clutch
  • Heated rear window switch
  • VMM
  • Engine coolant level sensor
  • EIC feed
  • EVO test
  • Steering sensor
    [*]Ride control mode switch
    [*]Ride control module
    [*]Ride control relay
  • Washer level sensor
  • Auto day/nite mirror
  • Parking brake illumination
  • Keyless entry illumination module
  • Daytime running lamps
  • Performance cluster ride control lamp

Also 'I' inside the power control box, under the hood driver side, right behind the battery - map is inside the cover.

If not the fuses, check the relays - I believe those are in the component tray inside the trunk, under the rear deck.

Still no joy, might need the module - same location, in the component tray.
