Whiney new Cardone rebuilt power steering pump

Just put in this rebuilt and initially it whined like hell. After driving a few hours, it is getting better but certainly not as good as I expected. Strangely, unlike a worn pump, it does not whine much while turning but mostly when going straight and gets louder as rpms increase. Will it get better in time?

Thanks,
Red

A new rebuilt rack was installed at the same time, so all the fluid in new. I am not aware of the process to bleed the air out of the system. What should I have done and will the air eventually be removed with use?

I think it's a matter of getting the front end off the floor and cycling left/right a few dozen (?) times. Don't hold it full lock...

While driving, I make a point of turning it lock to lock. I hope it continues to improve, as it is quite a job to change the power steering and a rack on an SC.
Thanks.
