windshield and rear glass replacement

I'm replacing the windshield and rear glass tomorrow.
I've got the cOwl off and assume the upper and lower trim pieces need to be removed on the rear glass and upper on the front glass.
Do the side moldings need to be removed for the front and rear glass to be removed and installed? They look like they just overhang the edge of the glass. The side moldings look riveted.
Thanks

I am not sure if you have had the new glass installed yet, but even if you have here is a lesson learned from me. At the end of May I had my windshield replaced and found that Safelight had an issue of deformed windshields for our cars. They ended up throwing out over 20 windshields for the Thunderbird because they all had waves and deformations along the top and middle of the glass. They finally after a month of looking had to special order a different manufacturer windshield to get it right and now it looks great. I also had them install a newer style trim for the top that they are using on the newer cars and it looks better than the factory style. Hope this helps.

Thanks Donny. New glass is in and I didn't notice any waves but I will check closer now that I know to look for it.
I removed all the trim prior to them getting there so I could restore it and told them I'd re install so I didn't get to see what they would have used had they damaged mine.
I replaced my rear window with a piece from the junk yard and had the techs that came out to do the front glass put in the rear which turned out to be a good move as one tech said that the urethane available from like a 3m brand off the shelf is not up to par with the commercial grade like it used to be so I'm glad they installed it.

Do you have any pics of the trim on your car? I know how difficult it is to find the factory pieces in good shape so if their is an alternative that looks as good or better I'd be interested to see it. I'm sure it can be sourced easy enough.

I can get ya some pics tomorrow afternoon, I drove my car over to the in-laws yesterday and the wife had me drive my other car home. I will heading back over there tomorrow and will take some pics then. The first tech that came out tore the original upper trim off before I could stop him and the sad part was that it was in decent condition, so I began to explore options. At first I was mad, but with the new trim, I am thinking about putting the same trim on the back when I go to remove it for paint.

Sorry for the delay, here are the pics with the new trim. Please overlook the bad n oxidation on the roof, I plan on getting her a new paint job in the near future.

My bird is " oxidizing " , so to speak, in very much the same manner. I like the way the trim hits the glass but im not sure if I like the gap between the roof line and the trim. Maybe im not seeing it correctly but it looks like the trim only takes up half the gap between the roof and glass.?

The trim goes all the way to the other side, and looks good in person. I will take another shot that shows the gap being filled. The trim is the same exact one that is used on newer Fords and other vehicle's on showroom floors now.

I tried a trim tool to pop them off and was successful at first so I kept at it and ended up snapping a few leaving the c clip part still on the pin. If I was to do it again I might use a thin needle nose and insert into the slit opposite the opening and gently rotate the retaine back and forth first to loosen it and then gently pull straight out. Any upward prying motion and they are probably going to break.
