As some of you know, on the Dyno at the shootout my 255lph pump that feeds my surge tank died. This was a bummer because I really wanted to put a good number up and race. So I crammed to get a new pump and make a track rental today. My good buddy brought his sport bike and my other good buddy Dave Dalke showed up.

First pass blew the tires off through first and second, with an e.t. of 11.23 at 134. This was a 2.1 60ft. Based on the mph and amount of pedaling I had to do, I knew a 10 was possible with traction.

Pass two I lowered the tire pressure, did a longer burnout, and gave it another shot. This time even worse traction. Dalke mentioned the car had no weight transfer and suggested a shock adjustment. So I adjusted the shocks and checked the pressure in the tires again. My gauge said 14psi, which was right what I wanted. I looked at my buddy Dan's mustang with 14psi and his tires were much more bulged. I borrowed his gauge and sure enough, 17psi. So I dropped them to 14 real psi and went back out.

Two step set to 5k rpm, fresh glue on the track and let it eat. The results!

And the video, excuse the language, my buddy knew I was shooting for a 10, he may have been more excited than me!

This was full weight 3737lbs as confirmed at shootout, without me in it. This is on the same tune, fuel, tires, and weight that I drive the car on to go get groceries.

Very nice job Corey! Nice to see an SC holding it's own along side some serious hardware. It's been a long time coming.

The way it was hooking earlier in the day I had low expectations. Then WHAM, sunroof shade flew back, I pooped a little and told myself don't screw these shifts up!

0.44 MPH away from needing a 10pt and a window net. I sense some winter upgrades are in order :D

I've got some thinking to do. The car is definitely taking a beating doing this, and isn't necessarily safe in its current setup for the times its capable of. Occasionally I get the itch to put a roll bar in and more safety equipment, then I usually just say I need to build a race car. The car drives great, I take it to work from time to time, run errands in it, etc. Nothing about it really says race car, except maybe the wheels and tires. I have a feeling I'm just going to focus on making this car even nicer inside, and out. Cleaner wiring, interior upgrades, some structural repairs etc.

I have a 4.5 svo that I should probably find a home for. That will be a purpose built car unlike my SC.

Yep, you hit it right on the button with that car. Too nice to turn it into a full out race car.

Yea you got to watch my car developed cracks between moon roof and windshield also in rear wheelwells along subframe and popped a bunch of spot welds in the back seat/trunk area in the last few years BUT My car is rusty and was also wrecked a few times before I got and they did not do the best job repairing it so that might be why?

That's funny because when mine first flew back it scared me too and like a dummy I kept closing it and then it would do it again. I finally got smart and left the dam thing open.........

By the way killer run.....................:D

sunroof shade flew back

Rather than just sliding it forward until it stops, pull down, nudge forward and it should travel a bit more and wedge tight into the front slot. But yes, all the way open/back FTW.

Nice run...love the video, thanks.

That's right...I knew that. I'd say your new manual record will stand for awhile!
Casey still has the M5R2 record though...that will probably stand in that category for awhile longer too!

You guys are setting the bar high!! :)

Congrats on the pass! I vote ford box top for the 4.5l.
