View Full Version : Problem replacing stock front sway bar links

I've removed the front left where I had a knock and that link sure has some play in it !!

Problem is I'm replacing it with greaseable Moog links and they have a bend close to one end. The original ones are just straight. Does it matter if I install them with the bend closer to the top or bottom ??

I'm just installed Moog front sway bar end links and I put the bend at the top.

When I replaced the ones on my '90, they looked like this:

You may have late model (kinked/S) links....?

Since both of his attached links are for a '95 supercoupe I figure that's what he has.

Good point, missed that, thanks - were the late model OEM fronts just straight, then?

Yes, mine were just straight. That's what was causing me the confusion.

Sorry about that. Now that I'm not a paying member I don't have a signature with the car. Yes, it's a '95 Supercoupe. Just couldn't justify paying $15 every year. Most forums have a lifetime option.

Just finished up. Seems it's very handy having a C clamp to apply pressure on the top to keep the stud from turning. Clamped the back of the link to the spindle ?? Anyway, it jams it in there so it doesn't turn when you're trying to tighten down the nut. Used a hammer handle to hold the bottom one in.

The passenger side was really loose and I fully understand the rattling and clunking that was driving me nuts.
Next will be the sway bar bushings.

That works - I usually side-load, and/or hand press the stem into the hole, then hit the nut with an air impact.

Forgot to ask if your '95 is lowered?
