I know there are a couple guys have done this. Kevin L was one I think. Flaming River rack comes to mind for some reason.

Thought about going to electric assist, instead? Low cost and something someone w/your mad skills should be able to do easily, I think.

I did the flaming river rack years ago. I think I got the rack for a 94-04 Mustang. It did bolt up to the k-member but I had to weld the rag joint to the input shaft and extend my outer tie rod ends because the Mustang rack was not wide enough for the SC. But I like it shaved off a good bit of weight and cleaned up under the hood a good bit.

Rich, I did this many years ago on my Red V8 car. I used a Flaming River rack for a 94-04 Mustang. Also used the Flaming River U-Joint that connects the small steering shaft on the rack to the double D steering shaft on the T-Bird. The Flaming River Rack outer tie rods are threaded standard threads. The T-birds outer tie rods are threaded metric. The T-bird outers can be rethreaded to standard easily. But when using the AJE K-member as I read you will be using. You will run into a bump steer issue. I fabbed up a bump steer kit to use on mine to correct this. Also on my original AJE K - member I had to use offset rack bushings. My new current issue AJE K-member does not need the offset bushings. I've attached a couple of photos of my set up with the early AJE K-member.

I just want to get my heap together and running this year.. Then I can get the K member and do a power steering delete. Certainly cleans things up underneath!!
