Hey all,
I can use all help I can get in my search for my first S/C. The members of the club are probably my best bet when I finally find a car I want.
If at all possible, could you give me some does and don'ts when it comes to the S/C??????? Any info would be much appreciated and might save me a lot of time, trouble and even some money.
I am relying on your expertise and my lack of it to make my transition to a S/C owner a smooth and happy one.
Thanks in advance.

Take another SC owner or two to look at a good prospect. If when you look at the car you like what you see then take another owner with you to point out anything you may have missed. There are great deals to be had out there and it is mostly right time right place kinda thing so keep searching. Good Luck

Thanks for the heads up Bruce, but any thoughts of a TurboCoupe are going to have to wait.

If you already have a 1995 v8 Thunderbird, why do you want an SC?

Mike,
Perhaps because he does do more than just drive to and from the grocery store!!! ;)
Cheers,

While I love the 4.6, I have always wanted a SC. When I purchased the 4.6 in 1996, It was almost new, had 13,000k's, and was the deal of a lifetime. I had origially been looking for an SC, but when this car fell into my lap, it was much too good to turn down. The 4.6 is a daily driver for the wife, as I walk to work every day. I want the SC as a *ME* car, something to tinker with(and from what I have heard the require a good bit of tinkering). Also, since the BlackBird has been problem free since day of purchase, I am reluctant to do any mods to her.
Thanks for all the help, and the info. I have a line on a '91 White SC for sale about 3 blocks away from me, which I am going to view later today. I will relay any info re: the car to the members*IF I DONT BUY IT FIRST*.
Just finished nights , and my bed is beckoning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Later.

Sean - I can get to the grocery store in 15 seconds, thank you very much, I just can't hit 145 doing it - LOL!!!
Mike - He wants a car that ALREADY has a power adder, not something he has spend $5000 to upgrade.....if he was gonna do that he might as well buy another car, no??? (stab, stab, stab).
Coolhand - Ron has got some REALLY good advice. Have more experienced people with you. Sometimes they'll see things you might miss.
Good luck.

Andrew....
My bird gets me where I want to go, whenever and wherever I ask her. I really have no idea how fast she is in the 1/4, but I can get to Gettysbutrg and back on all the gas you can throw at her!!!!!!!!!
Last year on my way home from races in Pocono, I met up with an Impala SS coming home from Carlisle. We drove with each other all the way to Kingston. I had the speedo maxed a few times. Was the most fun I have had with my pants on in ages. On the first stop, the guy(about my age....50!!!!), wanted to see all the work I had done to her, and was more than surprised to see that she was all stock.
I really dont want to mess with her, until she gets to costing me more than she is worth.
I am taking her to Carlisle in the summer.....am looking forward to it. Never been. Do they have a dyno machine????????
Anyway, us 4.6ers need to show some solidarity, even though I really want a SC.
