SC Engine cow noise when start up in cold weather

I own a 1990 SC 5 spd for 25 years. 75K miles, car used on weekends only. This winter car kept outside. There is a fairly loud mooing noise (much like a cow) when first started up. Noise is only at idle and goes away after car warms up. Car is completely stock and has never had any repairs or issues. Could this be the supercharge equipment needing servicing ? It sounds louder when listening near air intake.

It probably needs milking. ;) Anyways.. the IAC can sometimes make a noise described more like a goose honking when it starts to wear out. If you have any problems with high idle speed as well, thats likely it.

Replace IAC

I've typically heard of this described as a goose honking noise. There are several threads on this in the forum. I had it happen to my car last summer. Replaced the IAC (idle air control valve) with a motorcraft replacement and problem was fixed. Do you also have high or hanging idle issues? If so, bad IAC is the problem.
