M5R2 Throwout bearing shims

Does anyone know where to get shims for the throw-out bearing to raise the clutch engagement point? Believe I need a .050 shim. Does shimming the flywheel accomplish the same thing as shimming the throw-out bearing? Thanks! Derek

Good evening

Did you have the flywheel inspected and turned at a machine shop? Did your clutch replacement include the master, slave a clutch bearing also? Did you properly bleed the system? If shims are required members here shims the slave cylinder. Using sheet metal with the proper thickness trace base of the slave cylinder, cut and install. A transmission shop may have shims. Use search feature for more information. Here are a few examples.

Good Luck.

Thanks- saw those threads but was hoping there was a part number instead of aviation snips and making my own. Yes, everything is bled and were new parts. The friction point is just a little lower than I would like. Sounds like I will be cutting up some metal.
