Purchased Used Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) 'What did I buy? (Pics)

Good morning

You have purchased a late model Ford mass air flow housing and sensor. Note the "bridge" attached to the sample tube. In my salvage yard searches the housing is found on:

1992 - 1997 Thunderbirds and Cougars. See attachment: http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthr...and-mass-airflow-sensor-sizes-are-recommended

The Mass Air Flow sensor is a later model years (1991 -1995 for the S/C) as identified by the part number AFH-70-02. Earlier units can be identified with AFH -55 followed with a suffix number. Example. AFH-55-03B.

The MAF housing is interchangeable for the SC. The sensor electronics are not as it calibrated to the stock unmodified ECU and fuel injectors.

If you plan on using it (and are not modifying/tuning the ECU) you must first match with currently installed MAF sensor first. Then clean the two sensor leads with the correct cleaner.

Hope this helps and Good Luck.

Thank You, Figured it out

This is a Lincoln MAF. I bought it off a wrecked Super Coupe in CA. I thought it was a C&L.

I will have to keep looking for a 80mm or 85mm C&L with a purple tube.
