Firm ride/ brake pressure switch replacement

I've been running with the brake pressure switch unplugged for a while on my '90 XR7. It had rusted to pieces, and fell apart, but at least it didn't leak. Gotta love the rust belt. FINALLY got and installed a new switch from Bill at SuperCoupe performance, so am (pretty) sure it's the correct switch (I can't believe Bill would get that wrong, he's better at sourcing parts for us than that).

The firm ride is actuated at all times when the new switch is plugged in. When unplugged the firm ride functions properly (other than under braking obviously). Basically no change after installing new switch.

I'd really like the system to function 100% after the work I've got in it, so REALLY don't want to just roll with firm ride (best of 2 easy options), or unplug it and ignore braking functions.

Anyone else face this, or have suggestions?

Thanks

Adam
