Some of you have been asking me about the place where I recently got my exhaust done. Here's the contact information:

Budget Exhaust & Automotive
4179 Harvester Road, Unit 2
Burlington, Ontario L7L 5M4

Phone: 1(800)256-4482 or (905)681-4579
Fax: (905)681-6292

Owner: Jeff Lyell
Email: mufflers@netcom.ca
Website: http://www.budgetexhaust.com

Ask for Jeff and tell him that Sean with the red '90 SuperCoupe referred you and that you too are a member of the SCCoO. Also, Jeff recently told me that he is now an authorized Keystone dealer, so perhaps he can help us out with more than just exhaust parts/service.

Cheers,

Sean

Ed,

Could we get Wayne to add this info to the supplier's page?

Thanks,

As soon as I get a chance to get this car up on a hoist so that I can snap some pics, I'll post them for all to see. Personally, I'm very happy with what Jeff and his team did with my car! I think those of you who have ridden in the car since, or heard it up close will agree that the system worked out very well.

I'm anxious for the first track day in the Spring!!!

Best regards,

Sean

Greg,

I picked up a fuel tank out of a '95 4.6L car complete with all hardware for around $100. This worked out well, because the sending units in the newer tanks are made of stainless steel as opposed to aluminum or steel. Mine looked like brand new. I grabbed mine from Mike's Auto Wreckers in Stoney Creek, but I think the MN12 cars are plentiful enough everywhere that you should be able to find a place with one closer to you.

Cheers,

Sean

Sean,

Don't worry if you piping starts to discolour before we get a chance to take pictures. I bought some exhaust paint/protectant from Scott when I was there, and it will make it look new again for the photo op.

Bruce,

I purchased a pair of stainless steel high-flow cats from SuperCoupe Performance for $65/ea USD plus shipping and duty. When I took them to Jeff, he told me that he could have sold me exactly the same units for $90/ea CDN. I bought the Borla mufflers from CTC (through Keystone) for about $285/ea CDN. Other than that, Jeff supplied all the plumbing and the X-pipe, and performed the installation work for a very reasonable price.

Cheers,

Sean

Sean,

Could you approximate an amout? I realize that pricing is dependant upon the individual and what deal they can haggle, but a ballpark figure will definetely help the masses...ok me.

I think Jeff was a little surprised at how much work it was to fit all that stuff up. To make matters worse, I had already dropped the rear half of the stock system, so he couldn't even look at that for ideas. He charged me $500 all in for the X-pipe and plumbing installed, but please don't be shocked if he raises the price a little to account for all the work. Not only that, but I was pretty aggressive with negotiating price with him. I really worked the fact that I was the first of all members in the SCCoO who was willing to give him a shot at doing my system. I guess sometimes it pays to be the guinee pig!

The last time I was by his shop, Jeff asked me to send him the link to this forum, and I'll do that tonight so you may find that he follows this thread closely, perhaps responding here directly to your inquiries.

Best regards,

Sean

I assume that they are mandrel bends??

SeanMatteson

Kirk,

Jeff used mandrel bends up to the cats, and I think he ended up using some after that too, but what I requested was mandrel bends up to the cats, and pressure bends everywhere else. I don't think that Jeff has a mandrel bender at his shop, but instead uses pre-bent pieces of pipe that he stocks at his shop.

Sean

I know this is an old thread (I had to go back about six pages to find it), but some people were asking for this info. during the Christmas Dinner, so I figured I'd 'resurrect it'.

At the top is the contact info. for the place where I had my exhaust done. Jim Gravelle has been in contact with Jeff at Budget Exhaust & Automotive, and it sounds like he's going to get a great deal on a full exhaust system for his car, including modification of stock Mustang V6 headers, and coating of the headers!!! ...Maybe we'll be able to convince Jim to run his car down the qarter mile once or twice after this!!! ;)

It might be nice if Ed or Bill could arrange to have this information added to the "Parts and Services" page of the SCCoO website.

Best regards,

Sean

Sean, I must have missed this thread originally, or had a "senior moment" and forgot about it. We'll get this one added to the SCCoO Parts & Services listings.

thanks

Ed,

No worries. I know you guys are busy just like the rest of us, especially this time of the year.

If you need any further information about Budget in order to add them to the list, just let me know.

Cheers,

Sean

Ed,

I just noticed that you had these guys added to the Parts and Services page. Thank-you!

Also, thanks to whoever else might have been involved (Wayne, perhaps?).

Best regards,

Sean
