I have an aftermarket tach and I need the wire lead colors and location of said wire. Any reasonable help appreciated.

Won't that depend on the aftermarket tach?

Unless you're looking for where to connect it ... and checking a 1994 EVTM (what I have right handy), it says the tach comes in the instrument cluster on a White/Pink wire.

It's on pin 4, an Orange/White wire, on the PCM - and on pin 2 of the ICM.

For a 100% accurate answer, please check your EVTM (section 21 most likely) or at least give year so someone can check their EVTM in case the colors changed year to year.

I don't have a stock cluster, I need to get the lead under the hood( I'm assuming around the DIS module) the tach is an autometer 5 inch phantom, motor is a 1989/90

I gather it's not in a TBird either, then, from the way you're wording that.

I don't have a 1989 or 1990 EVTM, alas; but I bet the PCM pin I mentioned (pin 4, orange/white) is the same pin as for 94/95.

EVTM for '90 SC DIS module shows 'tach test connector' pin 5: Y/LG

Not verified by me to support 3rd party tach, tho, so YOYO.

Good luck.
